Story By: STEVE PADOS / DIRT TRACK HEROES – PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – The 2019 edition of the Quaker Steak and Lube Twelfth Annual Dirt Track Heroes Car Show is into the final two months of preparation for the event highlighting the past, present and future of auto racing all coming together under one roof at the Mall in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
An incredible list of sponsors are signing on for the event and everything is pointing in the right direction for the fabulous week long gathering. The doors of the Phillipsburg Mall will swing open to the public on opening day Sunday, March 3rd starting at 1 PM with an autograph and interview session of Nazareth Speedway driving legends and honoring Nazareth Modified Star “Rapid” Richie Smith. The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ, has proven to be a popular setting for this special event and will offer a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos on display throughout the course of the show. All historical racing groups including Flemington, Tri State, Reading, Harmony and Nazareth will have their memorabilia on display and their many scrapbooks open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake from past glory or racing exploits through Mibest Collectibles, Snyder Photos, Snyder Video, Gary and Ronda Phillips, Harmony Speedway/Greg Collins and Harmony Speedway/Archie Myers. Cars on display include big and small block Modifieds, Sportsman, Drag Cars, 270 and 600 Sprints, Midgets, All Sprint car divisions, Wingless Sprints, Late Models, go-karts, quarter midgets and a broad range of vintage and restored race cars. Hamlin, Snydersville, New Egypt, Grandview, Big Diamond, Accord and Bridgeport will again be among the many speedways involved with the 2019 show. The week-long event will set aside one evening to salute the “Stars of Tomorrow” with a special night for the budding young racing talents competing with the many quarter midget clubs in the local area.
The show is open to all divisions of racing including drag racing, go karts and quarter midgets as well as hot rods, street burners and trucks. All speedways in the local Tri State area have been invited to take part in the annual event.
