Jade Franklin Ready To Take Green Flag At Flamboro Speedway

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / JF MOTORSPORTS – HAMILTON, ONT – After a long off-season, it’s time to get to the track as Jade Franklin and JF Motorsports will be one of the teams on the grid for Flamboro Speedway’s season opener, as part of Operation Green Flag.

“Not only myself, but the whole team is excited to get back to the track and get the 2020 season rolling,” Franklin said. “It was a long off season and our plans were for the Limited Late Model at Sunset (Speedway) so we have been working hard on that. But when we heard about Flamboro Speedway’s events, we shifted gears over and worked hard to get the Pro Late Model ready to go.”

Ahead of the event, the No. 31 Pro Late Model was able to see some track time at Flamboro as part of their scheduled practice sessions.

“We were able to get out a couple times for practice, and overall I think it went well,” he commented. “The car ran and felt amazing. Our times were where we need to be and for the most part, it was good to get some seat time preparing for this weekend.”

This past season, Franklin ran a partial APC Series schedule in his second year of Pro Late Model competition, running in the top-10 throughout the season, highlighted by a season-best 11th at Sauble Speedway. Previously, he competed in the Super Stock class weekly at Sunset Speedway.

“This will be our third season in Pro Late Model competition and every time we go to the track we learn and get better,” he said. “The first year in APC was definitely a learning year. We didn’t know much about these cars and setup, as well as I had to learn how to drive a Pro Late vs a Super Stock. But last season, we showed up for a few races and we showed speed and proved we could run up front.

“Going into 2020 we expect to come back better then what we’ve been and hopefully be contending for wins every race we run.”

With the current government restrictions, no spectators or children are allowed to be in attendance for the event. However, Flamboro Speedway has partnered with GForceTV to broadcast the event. Fans are encouraged to log on for the service free on their website at http://www.GForce.net to take in the action, as well as other racing. The races will take place at 2:05 pm ET, streamed live on the service, with the broadcast beginning at 2pm ET.
